EUGENE, Ore. - One week after bowing out of the Oregon Twilight Meet due to a Covid-19 contact tracing issue, Oregon Track Club Elite is ready to roll.

Ten OTC Elite athletes are entered in the Sound Running "Track Meet" in Irvine, Calif., on Friday and Saturday. The meet is the first stop of the new American Track League series.

Prize money will be given to the top five finishers in each event: $1,000, $600, $400, $300 and $200. Saturday's featured events will be televised live on ESPN from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

OTC Elite's entries feature Sally Kipyego in the women's 10,000 meters and Hassan Mead in the men's 10,000m on Friday night. Patrick Tiernan is scheduled to pace the men's race.

During Saturday's televised window, Hanna Green and Sabrina Southerland are entered in the 800m, while Jake Heyward, Vince Ciattei and Will Paulson compete in the 1,500m.

Chanelle Price will run the 800m during the evening session and Nijel Amos and Tiernan are entered in the 1,500m. Amos, the 800m silver medalist at the 2012 London Olympics, has never run an official 1,500m during his career.
